A recent package of reforms by the Federal Government seeks to strengthen the integrity of Australia’s tax system and has instituted additional compliance and disclosure requirements for tax agents. These measures apply to TechAbstract from July 2025.

These reforms impose on TechAbstract, an obligation to keep parties informed on a range of matters. As part of TechAbstract’s compliance with these requirements, we hereby advise all current and prospective clients of the following:

  • The TPB maintains a public register of tax agents. The register includes details of any conditions imposed on the agent’s registration and can be found here:  https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register
  • TechAbstract continually strives to maintain its status as a professional and competent tax agent. • Registered tax agents are required to disclose and detail certain events prescribed under s45(1)(d) of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, that have occurred and involved the tax agent. As of 1 July 2025, TechAbstract is not aware of any such events within the determination that are relevant to the firm. If a prescribed event occurs in the future, we are required to disclose the matter within 30 days.
  • The TPB has published several fact sheets, including ones detailing a client’s rights and the process for making a complaint to the TPB. These are available on the TPB’s website.
